Spring 2021
Apr 03 , 2021
As we enter into Spring 2021 I’m reminded of where we were this time last year. Covid restrictions meant closing the door to business for a while. This was not what we’d anticipated as new shoes were piling up in the back - with nowhere to go. But, out of that, we created our very first online shopping platform and shopcardinoshoes.com was born. Over the past year, with restrictions in place, we survived. Even thrived!
Fast forward onto this Spring 2021and there is a very new and exciting change to share. Cardino’s Shoes has new owners. I am delighted to introduce Tierra and Chris Lynn, experienced business owners from Victoria, who have seamlessly taken over the reins and are quickly learning the language and life of shoes. Tierra shares my style and appreciation of aesthetics. She is terrific and you will enjoy getting to know her, while Chris oversees the back end of the business.
I’d like to take this moment to thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years. Twenty two years ago, on a whim, I thought Duncan could do with a shoe store. I didn’t know much - but what I did know was that comfort was what most people wanted in their footwear. From my background in Nursing, and in Design, a perfect vocation was found. Shoes are a want and a need and how we did that has become Cardino’s history.
A huge amount of gratitude goes out to my staff, without whom I would never have pulled this off. They’ve always been the best and with the most perfect of managers, Filomena, who has been with me since day one, I have the greatest amount of respect and gratitude for her always being there. Moving forward, you can expect all the same service, people and products. As well, new systems are already in place making it easier for you to browse before you shop in store, or online.
So, again, thank you so much for supporting Cardino’s Shoes, and for making Downtown Duncan the destination it has become.
I am so grateful.
Thank you. Jean
